If you’d like to channel Lindsay Lohan’s beautiful complexion from her 2025 glow up, Clarity II for Pigmented Lesions is a great place to start. This treatment will help to even your skin tone for a clearer, younger-looking complexion.

Clarity II for Pigmented Lesions

There are various types of pigmented lesions. Common types that we can spot treat with Clarity II include:

  • Sun damage / sun spots. These spots often look like freckles, but bigger. They’re caused by years of sun exposure and they darken in the sun.
  • Age spots. This is another term for sun damage because these spots become visible with age.
  • Freckles. Some people dislike their freckles, especially as they get older. Clarity II helps to lighten and even out a freckled complexion.
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). PIH is a condition where the skin turns darker than normal after experiencing inflammation or injury. Essentially, it’s a skin discoloration that occurs as a result of an inflammatory process like acne, eczema, or a skin injury that has subsided. These marks may stick around for a few months or even years.

Why Clarity II at Body Works Med Spa & Wellness

Here are some of the benefits of doing Clarity II for Pigmented Lesions at Body Works Med Spa & Wellness:

Non-invasive.

As a non-ablative laser system, Clarity II improves skin tone without damaging the skin’s surface. There’s no need for needles, incisions, downtime, or recovery time.

Effective.

During treatment, pigmented lesions selectively absorb laser energy without injuring healthy tissues or cells. Lesions typically darken immediately after treatment then fragment and fade within 2 weeks.

Comfortable.

Clarity II for Pigmented Lesions is a comfortable treatment. There may be a mild pinch from the laser, which is followed by a burst of cold air. The burst of cold air is called Cryogen Skin Cooling and it significantly improves the client experience.

Fast treatment.

Short on time? No problem. This treatment generally has people in and out of the clinic quickly. We treat up to 20 lesions within a 30-minute treatment.

Great service.

At Body Works, our mission is to use state-of-the-art non-invasive technology to help clients look and feel better about themselves while enhancing their quality of life – with no surgery or downtime. We also want you to have a top-notch experience with us from start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions About Clarity II For Pigmented Lesions

You must be 18 years or older.

We cannot use Clarity II for Pigmented Lesions to treat moles.

There’s also a type of pigmented lesion called seborrheic keratoses which is an abnormal skin growth that tends to appear with age. It is usually tan, brown, or black. While we cannot treat this with Clarity II for Pigmented Lesions, we can use laser facials to shrink them and otherwise improve their appearance.

Everyone’s skin is different. We have to see your skin and discuss your history to know if you’re a good candidate this treatment and recommend a treatment plan. Please book a free consultation.

This treatment is not painful. Most people notice a mild pinch, although some people don’t notice it at all. There tends to be more sensation when treating darker lesions. There’s also a burst of cold air on the skin to offset any potential discomfort. Clarity II for Pigmented Lesions is considered a very comfortable treatment.

Typically, pigmented lesions darken immediately after treatment. You may notice mild erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) around the treated lesions, which subsides within 24 hours. Over the next two weeks, the lesions fragment and fade. Best results generally require more than one treatment.

Yes, this is a safe treatment. There are risks with any elective cosmetic treatment, but we are trained and certified laser technicians who listen carefully to client feedback.

We do not treat people who are on medication or have a condition that causes skin photosensitivity. For example, if you’ve been using Accutane, you should not do laser treatments until at least 6 months after completing your drug therapy. Other contraindications include tanned skin in the treatment area, pregnancy, nursing, skin cancer or pre-malignant moles, an impaired immune system, and bleeding disorders. We do not treat over tattoos, permanent make-up, or pacemakers. If you have active Herpes Simplex Virus 1 or 2, we must wait until the lesion(s) are no longer present in the treatment area and we recommend taking prophylaxis before treatment to avoid a flare up. We do a full evaluation of treatment candidacy during your free consultation.

This treatment is for untanned skin only. If you have a tan, wait until it fades before doing Clarity II for Pigmented Lesions. If you have a tan during your laser treatment, you are at increased risk of burning and developing new pigmentation issues.

At least 2 weeks before treatment, discontinue use of self-tanning products and thoroughly cleanse the treatment area with an abrasive exfoliating scrub to remove all residue. Failure to do this could result in a burn.

If you have a history of disease stimulated by heat such as Herpes Simplex Virus 1 and 2, we recommend starting prophylaxis prior to treatment.

If you take supplements, stop using Ginko, ginseng, garlic, Tetracyclines, and St. John’s Wort at least 2 weeks before treatment. These substances can increase the risk of bleeding, photosensitivity, and drug interactions that can interfere with laser treatment and healing.

About 2 days prior to treatment, stop using topical retinol, vitamin C, glycolic acid, and any other active ingredients or products that may irritate the skin.

If you have noticeable hair in the treatment area, please shave within 24 hours of treatment and do not wear lotions or other skincare products on the day of your treatment.

Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours immediately following your treatment and continue taking sun protection measures for the duration of your treatment series. That means use SPF 30 or higher every day, reapply your SPF, wear a wide-brimmed hat in the sun, and avoid sun exposure when possible. Sun exposure immediately following a laser treatment could cause new pigmentation issues or a burn.

For the first 3 or so days, use only gentle skincare products and avoid chemicals that may irritate the skin including vitamin C, retinol, and chlorine.

At Body Works, you can finance purchases with a starting value of $400. All you have to do is apply for our Medicard financing program. It costs nothing to apply and we’re happy to assist if you need help.
