Tired Of Dull or Uneven Skin?

Our faces are the visual focal points of our bodies and it’s discouraging when we don’t like what we see. Wouldn’t it be nice to feel better when we look in the mirror?

At Body Works Med Spa & Wellness, Clarity II Laser Facials increase collagen, manage rosacea and facial flushing, minimize browns and reds (pigmented lesions), and address spider veins and broken capillaries (vascular lesions) – often all at the same time. A series of laser facials gives you clearer, brighter, and more youthful-looking skin.

What Is Skin Revitalization?

Skin revitalization is a process that restores a more beautiful appearance. Providers may use a variety of tools to achieve skin revitalization including lasers, chemical peels, microneedling, and microdermabrasion. The term “skin revitalization” is often used interchangeably with “photo rejuvenation”. The difference is that the latter is specific to using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).

Here at Body Works, we use the Clarity II laser by Cynosure Lutronic. We believe it offers some of the best and most comfortable skin revitalization treatments. Spot treatments like Clarity II for Pigmented Lesions and Clarity II for Vascular lesions are also considered skin revitalization treatments.

Why Choose Clarity II Laser Facials At Body Works Med Spa & Wellness

Our Clarity II Laser Facials provide many benefits:

Non-invasive

Our laser penetrates below the skin’s surface without cutting the skin. This means you get results without surgical incisions or recovery time.

Treats all skin types

Unlike IPL treatments (photo rejuvenation), Clarity II Laser Facials can treat all skin types including I-VI. One of the technical details that sets Clarity II apart from other devices is that it’s a dual laser. In other words, Clarity II has the Alexandrite 755 wavelength and the Nd:YAG 1064 wavelength in one machine. We use the appropriate wavelength depending on your skin type and goals.

Safety

Clarity II Laser Facials enable a unique feature called real-time temperature sensing. This provides feedback about skin surface temperature to guide a safe and comfortable treatment.

Effective

Since Clarity II is a dual laser with both the Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths, we select settings that optimize efficacy for each client while maintaining safety. We may even use both wavelengths during the same laser facial.

Customized

We always customize our laser facials to the client. Whether we’re doing laser toning or a rosacea facial, we tailor your treatments according to your needs and goals.

Comfortable

In general, Clarity II Laser Facials feel warm and soothing on the skin. Our device offers some of the most comfortable skin revitalization treatments on the market.

Great service

At Body Works, our mission is to use state-of-the-art non-invasive technologies to help clients look and feel better while enhancing their quality of life – with no surgery or downtime. We aim for you to have a top-notch experience with us from start to finish.

Competitive pricing

Even though Clarity II is a leading laser system, we’ve decided to offer our skin revitalizing laser facials at a price point that’s competitive with older and less effective treatments. Similar cost, better results.

No downtime

With Clarity II Laser Facials, people generally get back to regular life right away. See our FAQs below for information about pre-treatment and post-treatment care.

How Do Clarity II Laser Facials Work?

The Clarity II laser is a non-ablative laser system. This means it heats up the deeper layers of skin without damaging the skin’s surface. Heating the deeper layers of skin kills acne bacteria and causes the body to produce new collagen. New collagen improves texture and creates a more youthful appearance.

Clarity II is also a fractional laser system, which means that it targets a fraction of the skin at a time. In other words, it delivers precise laser light which creates deep and narrow columns of tissue coagulation. Coagulated tissue stimulates a natural healing process that results in fast growth of healthy new tissue. This is what makes for that post-treatment glow.

When targeting pigmented and vascular lesions, the melanin in these lesions absorbs the laser energy. This causes pigmented lesions to fragment and fade while vascular lesions collapse and become absorbed by the skin.

Providers of similar skin revitalization treatments claim that their services are painless. We’ve tried some of these treatments, and we definitely wouldn’t describe them that way! On the other hand, most people who try Clarity II Laser Facials would say that they’re comfortable. There may be some tolerable discomfort if we’re treating pigmented or vascular lesions. Clarity II Laser Facials are probably the most comfortable treatment of their kind on the market.

When you see results depends on your skin and the specific issues that we’re addressing. Optimal results require a series of treatments and your skin will improve after each treatment.

Skin tends to look brighter immediately after a laser facial. Pimples and congestion will start to clear and the skin renewal process will produce more radiance.

When we treat spider veins, we typically see a lightening, darkening, or blanching of the blood vessel right away. For facial veins, it takes up to 6 weeks for the vessel to collapse and disappear, while veins on the body resolve in up to 12 weeks.

Pigmented lesions usually darken immediately after treatment then fragment and fade within 2 weeks.

Since it takes about 3 months for the skin to produce more collagen, textural improvements like the smoothing of fine lines takes about that much time.

In general, yes, Clarity II Laser Facials are safe. Complications can happen with any elective cosmetic treatment, but we are trained and certified laser technicians who listen carefully to client feedback.

We do not treat people who are on medication or have a condition that causes skin photosensitivity. This includes Accutane. Other contraindications include pregnancy, nursing, skin cancer or pre-malignant moles, an impaired immune system, and bleeding disorders. We do not treat over tattoos or permanent make-up, a pacemaker, or recently tanned skin. If you have active Herpes Simplex Virus 1 or 2, we must wait until the lesion(s) is no longer present in the treatment area and we recommend taking prophylaxis before treatment to avoid a flare up. We will do a full evaluation of your candidacy during your free consultation.

This treatment is for untanned skin.

Minimize sun exposure for 6 weeks leading up to your treatments. That means avoid tanning beds, apply and re-apply SPF 30 or higher every day, wear a wide-brimmed hat when in the sun, and try to stay out of direct sunlight. If you disregard this advice, you are at risk of developing hypopigmentation from your laser facial.

At least 2 weeks before treatment, discontinue use of self-tanning products and thoroughly cleanse the treatment area with an abrasive exfoliating scrub to remove all residue. If you don’t do this, the laser may inadvertently target the self-tanning product and burn your skin.

If you’ve used Accutane, schedule your treatments at least 6 months after completion of the drug therapy.

To avoid a flare up, start prophylaxis prior to treatment if you have a history of disease stimulated by heat such as Herpes Simplex Virus 1 and 2.

Stop taking Ginko, ginseng, garlic, Tetracyclines, and St. John’s Wort supplements at least 2 weeks before treatment. These supplements can increase the risk of bleeding, bruising, or skin sensitivity and therefore negatively impact treatment.

Do not use topical retinol, vitamin C, glycolic acid, or any other active ingredients that may irritate the skin at least 2 days prior to treatment.

Do not wear lotions or other skincare products on the day of your treatment.

Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours immediately following your treatment. Sun exposure immediately following a laser treatment could cause hyperpigmentation or a serious burn.

For at least 24 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, hot tubs, saunas, and excessive heat of any kind.

For the first 3 or so days, use only gentle skincare products and avoid topical chemicals that may irritate the skin including vitamin C, retinol, and chlorine.

Continue taking vigilant sun protection measures for the duration of your treatment series. That means use SPF 30 or higher every day, reapply your SPF, wear a wide-brimmed hat in the sun, and avoid sun exposure when possible. Sun exposure will always worsen your skin’s condition.

While it’s important to be extra careful about sun exposure immediately before and after Clarity II Laser Facials, you should always protect your skin from the sun. This means never use a tanning bed, always wear a hat, use SPF 30 or higher every day (yes, even in winter!), and avoid tanning. The sun is always going to worsen your skin. It’s also important to have an at-home skincare routine with good quality products to support your in-clinic treatments. This will improve and maintain your general skin quality and enhance results. A Body Works representative will be happy to make recommendations.

At Body Works, you can finance purchases with a starting value of $400. All you have to do is apply for our Medicard financing program. It costs nothing to apply and we’re happy to assist if you need help.
